Iron sucrose (Venofer) infusions. When would I start feeling better?

Could convince my GI that both lactoferrin and folic acid were not doing the trick, anemia symptoms were becoming worse and they caused me severe nausea. So, I was prescribed iron sucrose infusions weekly for 3 weeks, then I would have another cbc test to see whether I'll repeat them or not.
I had my first infusion today. I told my GI I was afraid I might have bad stomach reactions as happened before. He assured me that this is a different type of iron and prescribed nexium and zofran iv to be taken prior to the infusion.
I was very energetic after I finished the infusion but when I went home, I felt fatigue. Is this normal? After how many infusions should I feel any improvement?

Thank you Gumby for telling me it's normal. Now, I'm becoming too dizzy but these nice side effects won't deter me to continue the infusions. Hope it kicks in quickly.

Cosmofer gave me an anaphylactic reaction, so I wouldn't touch Venofer with a bargepole.

I was able to tolerate Ferinject and had it given over two infusions rather than one. As far as I remember it helped with my anaemia symptoms pretty much immediately (leg issues and breathlessness when walking). It might have given me more energy, I don't remember. I'm always braindead nowadays though, anyway - I mean, I've forgotten what it's like to not be braindead

Minnie, When I had my first infusions my iron was so low that it took till the third one to begin feeling the effects. If I remember right I was given Ferrlicet(?) or something like that. But I do remember when it kicked in I felt almost human again. Wish you luck!
