What to expect on my first day of Remicade infusion? Worried

It probably won't. Methotrexate is notorious for having nausea as a side-effect, but Remicade infusions are usually well tolerated. Some people report feeling fatigue for a day or two after the infusion; I never had that, in fact after my first infusion I had more energy (pity it didn't last longer).

The pre-meds they give you before the infusion (benadryl and a steroid, I think) made me sleepy during the infusion, but only for about an hour. It meant that I spent most of my infusions dozing off though. I dunno if you drive, but if you do, you should be okay for driving home afterwards. I had my parents take me to the first couple of infusions in case I had a bad reaction, but I never did. After that I went to most infusions by myself.

I am getting my remicade right now
and I feel just fine
I sometimes get a bit of abdominal pain with it (but its nothing for me compared to flaring)
usually you are premedicated with one or more of the following tylenol, antihistamine, steroid
the antihistamine and steroid both help with infusion reactions
the steroid also helps prevent antibodies to the remicade

I'm just like NCOT.
My mom took me the first few times, but she would just talk and talk to everyone there and all I wanted to do was sleep!
So I soon went by myself.
Benadryl + tylenol + solumedrol = knocked out!
I was always a little bit out of it afterwards because I did not want to be woken up!
Plus, in the beginning, I was always insanely thirsty that night. Sometimes I even brought a gatorade (energy drink) because the fluids made me thirsty and want to pee at the same time.
After I got home, I would want to eat ALL THE THINGS!

I never really understood how sick I was until Remicade made me feel like a normal person.
