What happens when biopsy results don't mirror how you feel?

I have had CD since 1989, and since my 1998 surgery, I have been handling my disease with Remicade and 6MP. Lately, I have been feeling quite well. I had a scope in December, and the doc said that visually, things looked pretty good. I was therefore surprised when the microscopic biopsy results indicated "severe" CD throughout. Just wondering if others have had "bad" results even when feeling pretty good, and what that type of report portends for the future.

Crohn's appears microscopically active several months to even years before it sometimes causes clinical symptoms. Butt that means that your Remicade/6MP regimen is not doing enough to keep you in remission, so my guess is that your doc is either going to increase the frequency of the infusions or switch to another drug. Sorry to hear of your news, but its's good you know about it so you can possibly reverse the flare and prevent damage to your intestines and mucosal lining.

Sometimes folks have the opposite, where they feel crappy but all the results look good. Symptoms don't seem to always relate to disease activity, which is another reason this crappy disease is so crappy!
