Hello everyone, while I haven't been diagnosed with Crohn's yet I seem to be experiencing quite a few symptoms. It could also be IBS but we won't find out till next week when I do my colonoscopy and Endoscopy.

A little about what's been going on: This all started last November. It started with frequent diarrhea following anything I ate. It then turned to diarrhea and nausea. I also noticed some anal leakage too before and after bowel movements. Recently in January the abdominal pains and nausea started. It would be so bad that some days I just couldn't bring myself to get out of bed. At one point I had stopped eating just cause I didn't want to deal with the diarrhea and now have lost about 7 pounds in the span of 4 days. I've started changing my diet and cutting out sodas and spicy foods. It doesn't matter though cause I can eat he blandest of foods and still have the diarrhea. This is such a frustrating thing to deal with.

I guess I'm posting to let out frustrations really but I did want to hear about some of yall's experiences and your first time dealing with these issues. Thank you for reading this far lol.

Sorry you are going through this! Looks like you are taking the right steps for diagnosis.. I would also recommend asking the doctors to do stool studies. Check for c-diff, parasites, etc.

Oh yea, that was one of the first things they did. All negative. We tried antibiotics in case of infection and no dice.

Glad you are getting the scopes done. Your symptoms sound a lot like mine did when it all first started. It took me 10 years to get a proper diagnosis. Hopefully it won't take you nearly as long (they didn't want to do scopes for many of those years, I was "too" young to have anything serious they said). But it is common for some of us to have to fight to get diagnosed. If you feel it isn't right, keep pushing to find out what is going on. They like to give out the IBS diagnosis when they have no idea what it is, and the scopes just aren't coming out bad enough to tell yet.

I hope for you that it is just IBS though, and hope you get to feeling better.

Any low-grade fevers? Any joint aches? Mouth sores? Skin issues? Your colonoscopy and endoscopy should help tell what's going on; but they don't cover the small intestine, so it's possible they show nothing but miss something in the small intestine.

Let us know what they find.

The only symptom I had when my Crohn's first started was diarrhoea - and no there wasn't any blood in the stool. It took years before I got any other symptoms other than diarrhoea.

Symptoms really don't correlate all that well with inflammation. You can have inflammation and few to even no symptoms.
