Each time your intestines go through a flare cycle and get inflamed they leave behind some scar tissue. Over time, the built up scar tissue causes narrowing or "strictures" in your small intestine, and if the narrowing gets bad enough you eventually need surgery to avoid obstruction. It seems that some people with Crohn's are more prone to stricturing, and others are more prone to abcesses and fistula formation. If you respond well to the biologics, then they should keep the inflammation at bay, so it can prevent further stricture formation. If your current strictures are from inflammation, the biologics might help them too, but if they are primarily comprised of scar tissue then no medication will help. So if you are currently having no symptoms, then the stricture is probably not severe, and the biologics might help prevent them from further narrowing.
Some people seem to respond well to biologics and others do not. The only way to find out is to try and see if it helps you. I hope that all made sense to you.
