Hair loss on Humira?

Has anyone experienced hair loss while taking Humira?

I just recently started taking Humira again about a month ago. Previously I was on it for a few months around late 2014/early 2015 (along with Imuran) after I finished a round of steroids for a few months. My hair began falling out but my gastro told me it was likely due to malnutrition; he had me start drinking Boost supplemental drinks which didn't seem to help. Then at the beginning of 2015 I lost my insurance so I quit taking all medicine, including the Humira. The hair loss stopped.

Fast forward to late 2015 and of course I'm super sick again. By this time I have a job and insurance so I went back to the gastro and after more steroids (yay), he gave me more Imuran while I waited for the Humira to be approved by my insurance. He said the Imuran might have actually been what caused the hair loss. So this time secretly I never started taking it, because obviously I didn't want my hair to start falling out again.

Well then I started on the Humira, and now, a little over a month later, my hair is falling out again, so I'm thinking it must have been the Humira the whole time : / Unfortunately I can't get into a dermatologist until early March (he previously recommended going to one when my hair fell out last time, but then it stopped so I never went), and I can't get in to see my gastro until mid-March.

Has anyone else had this experience with Humira? Intellectually I know that I should just be grateful that it helps me to feel better, especially since I've tried several other medicines before that didn't work, but it's beyond distressing to see chunks of hair coming out every day. I've started taking vitamins for hair growth but I doubt it will help as long as I'm on this medicine.

Thanks for reading and/or any and all advice! I feel so alone in my life because no one knows what to say to comfort me when I get upset about my hair, or when I feel sick- not even my brother, who also has Crohn's, because he hasn't experienced some of the things I have such as hair loss : /

Nope and I've been on Humira for a couple of years now, my hair is just as healthy as ever, oddly considering how poor my health has been with CD and IBS, my nails and skin always showed my poor health but for some reason my hair always was healthy and even when lots would fall out it would grow back so I'm thankful for that. Since getting better being on Humira my nails are quite amazing, not perfect but amazing compared to how bad they were always splitting, peeling and breaking, skin issues are something I've had since I was a kid with severe eczema but it's gotten much better too although I do get itchy hives right out of the shower which I know is from Humira cuz it's never happened in my life before until I started Humira but I don't care, it's not bothersome since it goes away once my body temp gets back to normal after a shower.

My iron is only slightly low, I don't take any supplements for it due to being hard on the gut. So you could have other levels that are low as well, be good to get all your levels checked and see what your specialist says about the hair loss, is it not growing back in/new growth?

I had been on Humira for about 5 years. During the 5th year, I started noticing a small bald spot on the back of my head, which got to be about the size of a quarter. I quit Humira for various reasons, and within 2 months my hair was growing back. So I definitely think it was the Humira since I have not taken any meds since.
