crohns AND arthritis?

I think I have RA. Is this a common sidecar when one already has Crohns?

Arthritis is common with Crohn's and isn't alway RA, which is its own auto-immune disease. But once we have one auto-immune disease, we are at higher risk for others. Crohn's isn't technically in the same classification of auto-immune diseases.....it is more defined as an over-active immune response, or something like that.

thanks for the reply. I believe it's rheumatoid arthritis because of the swelling in my joints and the appearance of morphing or misshaping of things like knuckles and also the typical location for a bunion on my foot.... growing bigger at that location as well.

Hey General...I would see a guy who tests for all the auto-immunes. Some of the morphing you describe also fits a couple of other auto immune dxs. Yipee...I added RA plus two other auto immunes this year...

I had crohns -arthritis in both hips in the early days of my disease. could hardly move. lots of drugs and therapy later it went away about a year later..
