I had a CT scan back in March, and a couple of days later I broke out with Shingles. My Crohn's is back, and I was all set to start Entyvio, but had to put it off until the shingles healed. After a couple of weeks, my Crohn's symptoms started escalating that I asked the GI to put me on Entocort while I waited out the shingles.
It's been two weeks now on Entocort, and I'm not sure it's helping. I'm getting sharp pain in the terminal ileum that comes and goes, and having more discomfort after eating. I'll have a day or two of feeling ok, and then I'm back to a lot of pain and/or spending 1/2 the day in the toilet. I'm guessing I'm still about
a week away from the shingles disappearing completely so I can start Entyvio, not that I'll see immediate results starting that.
To complicate matters more, my GI has moved. The orders for the Entyvio are set, and I have an appt with a new GI in that practice in June. I'm starting to think I need to switch from Entocort to prednisone, but that might all be easier said than done.
Lastly, I'm getting insomnia, a bit of irritability from the Entocort, and today my blood sugar dropped which I suspect is also from the Entocort. Just having a pity party today.

Hey there :(
Was that your first Ct scan ???
Sorry to hear you are still suffering, ive crohns in my terminal ileum too and entocort really works well there , but it can unfortunately take a little longer to work than pred , it also has less side effects but can cause insomnia :( ive tried lavender oil (spray) on my pillow to help me nod off X x
Theres nothing worse than lack of sleep when dealing with flares too

Sorry to hear about
your situation. I feel your pain, and do other members in this forum. Our situations suck- we were dealt a bad hand in life. But, we have to make the best of our situations anyway we can, and if that means coming on and talking about
it for support with others than by all means that is the best way. It sounds like you have your stuff together, and the plan sounds good.
Why would getting on prednisone be hard? Just call the doctor and tell them what you want.

@Amy C33 It was my first scan with contrast.
@StopthePain123 My GI left the practice, and I haven't seen the new one yet.
I'm just in a weird limbo, but always helps that folks on here can relate.
