Little history:
Mother had Colon Cancer and other issues so I have Colonoscopies are done every 2-3 years to remove
polyps. All came back benign.
Feb, 2015 went to ER for Diverticulitis. Was treated with Cipro and Flagyl (1 of each 2 times daily for 10
days). I would guess this combo sterilized my colon but a few days later up popped C-diff which was
treated with another liquid antibiotic.
Was then diagnosed with Crohn's Disease and put on Humira Pen Injections. Over the last year we changed the
dosage from 1 pen every 2 weeks, then 2 pens every 2 weeks, then 1 pen every week trying to
eliminate stomach pain at night. During this time I've noticed weight loss. loss of appetite, and lack of
energy.
Went to a Nutritionist who suggested gluten free diet, protein smoothie's filled with yogurt, banana's, peanut butter(creamy style) and blue berries. Even added a scoop of Whey to add calories.
I am scheduled for a CT Scan May 10th then followed with an Endoscopy. They have also ordered a standby C-Diff test the next time I have a runny(watery) stool.
My question is how do I restore the good bacteria back into my digestive system which will then absorb the nutrients to allow me to gain weight back and settle my stomach down?
Thanks for any and all input.
