Another recent article and was actually an interesting read. Gives a bit of hope and reveals some further information about various strains as has been suggested by a few other researches.

Interesting. I had UP (ulcerative proctitis) for twelve years before having a total proctocolectomy with end ileostomy. My surgeon left about 2cm of my anus. Three years post op, that part became diseased. My surgeon retired in 2013 and my disease returned in 2014. I am seeing a new colorectal surgeon who tried treating the disease with rectal meds. No help whatsoever. A few months ago, I had an infection and was on the drug Cipro. My UC symptoms inside the anus have completely disappeared.

MAP is something that has been bounced around for a while. Like other treatments, it works well for some people and not well for others. Antibiotics, even these, cause me to have major flares, not to mention the risk of c. diff.
