Hi, a few days ago I had a bump almost next to my anus. The following day it went down is size a lot. At first I had pain with bowel movements with the bump, but it went down with the size. However, yesterday some yellow pus came out, and it looked like there was a whitehead. Today it just looks like a little irritated, but some pus still comes out. Could this just be a harmless pimple? I get a lot of acne on my face. I am worried if it is an abcess, but since the size went down and the pain is almost gone I'm not sure. Thanks

I think you need to set an appt with your doc asap to make sure it isn't an abscess. Mine have never shrunk down in size, and sometimes ingrown hairs will get like that. How big was it with the largest? I've never had a hemorrhoid leak pus.

Thanks for replying. My doc is away for now but I will be seeing him in a week. I think it's a hair follicle since I'm going through puberty. I hope it isn't an abcess, since it went down in size I doubt it is. Could this be infectious? Pus has no smell and I have no fever

The largest it's been was about 1.5- 2 cm in diameter. Now it isn't really noticeable. (The area just looks a little red irritated) I can't find anything that matches what I say

Sounds like an abscess to me. Once it drains it will get small and even go away. Sounds lucky that yours didn't grow to be big and stick around for longer. I believe my abscess was around for about a week before it drained. I had to take many long soaks in the bath before mine burst. Then I was left with a small hole, that I later found was a fistula. I agree with getting it checked out and having your doc keep an eye on it since they are common for us with Crohn's.

This may sound kind of weird, but if it comes back take a few pictures at different stages so your doctor can have an idea.

I don't think that would change what it is. The pus can spread under in the tissues making the lump smaller or larger. It doesn't mean you will for sure have a fistula or anything though. But it's a good idea to get it checked out.

The pain is almost gone. I think the little bit of discharge is from irritation because of my toilet paper. Sorry I'm going back and forth but my appt is a while from now, and I'm confused. If it spread under wouldn't it hurt though? Thanks for answering

I guess it depends on how it spreads. When I had my fistula I had two openings. One inside the anal canal, and one where the bump was next to my anus. Once the pressure was gone I didn't really have anymore pain. Just a little irritated opening that would drain very small amounts every now and then. Problem was that little opening never healed. I had it that way for well over a year. They had to surgically open up the whole fistula tract and let it heal from the inside out. Most of the painful parts of the whole thing was when the bump was there and the pressure of the pus was building up. I remember the great relief once it drained. I would call your doc and let them know what happened since your appointment is so far away. Hopefully your little opening heals up and won't turn in to anything else!

Hi,

Regardless of what it is, keep having hot sitz baths to keep it draining. I truly hope it isnt an abscess. If it was an abscess, you would have been in alot of pain.

Hi, I went to another doctor and he didn't really say much about it other than to put antibacterial creams, although he didn't see it (I'm using povidone-iodine solution). The pain has to be coming from my toilet paper because I took a site bath right after and the pain and redness went down. I usually poop right after I wake up, but I don't wake up with pain. The discharge is yellow and translucent, and I wake up with only 1-2 drops, but a lot more throughout the day from wiping. I think this whole thing maybe from wiping too harsh or often. Thanks everyone for replying, since there's no warm feeling or smell near the area I think it's not an abcess

Id also like to note TP has caused some bleeding before, which is why I'm so certain it's causing this.
