Hi everyone, I'm currently in the process of trying to reduce my remicade and want to share my strategy for transitioning to an all natural protocol. Any input is always appreciated. Currently on remicade every 10 weeks instead of 7, and am currently not going to push back further until I see more consistent results from my alternative approach. Here's my protocol at the moment. My naturopath has me following an alkaline diet which I've grown to believe in. Nutritionally dense raw living fruits and vegetables as the majority of my fuel seems like a good start. I'm currently taking 2 herbal mixtures a day (one powder, one capsules) contains psyllium husk, marshmallow root , aloe vera, cholorophyll and others. I take a 50 billion probiotic, omega 3, magnesium, coconut oil, cook with turmeric, 80% raw diet 50/30 veggies/fruit and no gluten no dairy. Carbs from quinoa and sweet potato. Cheat 2-3 a week, also consume coffee daily. All this and I'm on remicade also, currently just started having minor symptoms again. BM 3-5 a day, possibly induced by mild food poisoning. Made my first batch of cannabis oil to add to my regimen, and working decent so far. I will work on getting my medical cards so I can tailor my THC/CBD ratios to my needs(will try 2thc:1cbd). I also believe that key factors for transitioning off remicade will include a good sleep regimen, exercise and reparation of my microbiome. I will try Bravo Probiotic, it's not a normal probiotic and involves fermenting with colostrum and milk. Made by italian researcher Dr. Marco Ruggiero, who's made some significant links between the microbiome and various body regulatory systems. In essence his probiotic seems like an alternative to FMT (fecal matter transplant). The endocannabinoid system and microbiome seem to be showing the most promise in regards to regulatory functions, inflammation and immune response. THC was shown to reduce TNF-alpha production in mice and CBD is showing many of the same properties. Not to mention advocacy from people like Coltyn Turner in Colorado, showing complete remission with cannabis and spreading the word like wildfire. I've also been looking into Russian Peptides which have peaked my interest. Not going to be the miracle supplement we're all looking for but maybe it'll have a positive effect toward regulating my immune system. For now I continue my journey, and I truly believe i'll reach my goal of natural remission one day. My current attempt at remission will include microbiome/immune function repair, elimination of toxins (no processed food, only organic food, household items) and clean food intake, low stress, exercise etc. Who else is out there trying to achieve the same goal as me? What worked for you guys, and what failed miserably? Hope everyone's staying inflammation free, thanks for reading.
