can narrowed small intestines cause constipation?

My daughter has an "extreme narrowing" in her small intestines due to her Crohn's. Possible surgery coming up. But also today found out she had lots of stool in her colon. Are these things related?? I don't want to give hr Mirilax daily forever!!!

If it's narrowing due to a stricture or scar tissue that doesn't allow normal flow than yes constipation can result. Usually accompanied by bloating, gas, narrow stools.

yes, when I had a stricture in my terminal ileum I was constantly struggling with constipation. Now that I have had re-section surgery I am often struggling with diarrhea. Can't win!
