I haven't seen posts from cupcakespinkgal for a while.
Last I spoke to her she said she was having a ileoscope a few weeks back but since then nothing?
I hope her scope was all good and she's doing well! I wanna know how things went for her.

I'm here! Thanks for asking! My ileoscopy went really well. My GI said my small intestines looked perfect, like the intestines of a healthy person. No sign of disease, inflammation, or adhesions. She was able to get 60 cm in and took biopsies just for good measure. All biopsies were normal.
I am so relieved. I feel very healthy since surgery but was nervous about
what things looked like inside. I'm glad to have confirmation that I am in remission!
We were on a nice long beach vacation after the good news so I wasn't on here quite as much.

Thats really good to hear!
Prior to your surgery did you ever have signs of the diseases in your small bowel or was it confined to your large bowel and rectum??

No, it has never been in my small bowel. My very first doctor diagnosed me as Crohns, since then my new doctors always thought UC because it was limited to my left colon and rectum. I had a pill cam test a few years back and that was clean. But the pathology from surgery confirmed Crohns.
So my doctor now pretty much says its Crohns Colitis and that was why we started with the no meds approach with follow up scopes to check the small bowel.
I do know a few other ostomates that only the colon was diseased and have gone 10 years or longer with no meds since surgery. So I am hopeful that is going to be my outcome.

I can't remember from your previous post. Is your disease also always been confined to the colon?

Yes.
From all tests done so far everything shows the small bowel to be healthy, except I haven't done a pillcam yet thats gonna be my next step, maybe sometime next year to really check the small bowel but as far as all these tests go it shows my rectum and colon to be effected.
