Flaring up two weeks after remicade infusion - can't figure the reason out

This is the second time in a row that I flare up two weeks after I take remicade infusion. After the previous infusion, I was traveling, texted my GI and he recommended I take a dexamethasone injection and buscopan and these could put symptoms at bay.

I slept today for almost 12 hrs, woke up very tired, had watery d, soiling and severe abdominal pain. I just took 2 pills of buscopan and decided if things didn't settle down, I'll take the dexamethasone injection.

I can't figure out what happens after 2 weeks from the infusion. The biopsies of the scope I had 3 weeks ago showed active ilecoloitis with hyperplasia in Peyer's patches. Also, I screwed up the rifaximin round. I was supposed to take it for 2 weeks and it was supposed to be finished next week. Yet, the severe sinusitis headache made me stop taking it after only 5 days and my GI is travelling so I didn't consult him.

I have to mention that remicade improved my symptoms with a percentage like 60 or 70%.

Well it doesn't seem to be working based on your symptoms and the biopsy results. I'm so sorry! This disease is so frustrating.

Gumby, thank you. I'm still hoping remicade might kick in. This is the first infusion after the trough test level has showed I need to take it every 6 weeks.

Let me see if I understand correctly, it is about 70 percent better after the infusion but then you have what seems like a flare at 2 weeks? Is it still better than before remicade even with the set back? What does it do for the next 4 weeks? It might be wishful thinking on my part but maybe is it possible it's a side effect from the medication? It's unlikely that long after the injection but I get crohns like symptoms several days after the infusion that go away after a day or so. I know it's a long shot but figured I'd throw it out there.

Labradorite, thank you. Well, I meant an overall improvement in the symptoms and my overall activity even if I get these adverse reactions in week 2.
