Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with UC when I was 16 then with Crohn's when I was 18. I've had more surgeries than I can count but most recently I have been battling chronic periananl fistulas. They are complex transphincteric fistulas that involve a high percentage of my sphincter muscle. I've had seton drains in for almost 3 years. I've had multiple plug attempts but all have failed. Due to location and having Crohn's the next step has come to a gracilis flap repair.
Has anyone had any experience with this? I am trying to mentally prepare myself! I realize this is no small surgery but I'm not sure what to expect. Thanks!!
