I'm now working on my PhD and when I exert mental effort, I need food that helps me to boost my energy and increase my concentration. My normal friends, who are non-IBDers, eat chocolate and drink juices. But I can't do this. First, I'm a GERDie and chocolate would make the esophageal sphincter relax and thus increase reflux. I do drink tea though it's another GERD trigger. Second, fibers are the first trigger of my Crohn's and I can't tolerate them. I used to eat oats but now for an unknown reason, they aggrevate my Crohn's. Any suggestions of snacks would be appreciated.
