12 weeks - I will assume 3 loading dose and 1 maintenance dose = 4 doses ?
I went through the same thing, I was told repeatedly that Entyvio is slow, be patient, wait until 5 doses.
I had absolutely no changes, went through 4, 5, nothing. My doctor referred me to a researcher in Cedars which took months to set up, by then I went through 7 infusions. NOTHING.
Moral of this story for me: The very reason behind a loading dose of 3 is to shock Crohns in its tracks. My opinion is that by dose 4 you should start seeing SOME CHANGE ( reduced diarreah, less distention, less pain) and by dose 5 and 6 you should definitely see major changes, if not then you should seriously consider stopping it. The GI office of 4 GIs have 15 Entyvio patients, 10 it worked, 5 like me it did not work at all.
So then I was switched to Remicade and Imuran, I was at 5 mg and by the 4th dose nothing. I was not going through that anymore, so the doctor doubled the dose to 10 mg and started improving. By now I am at my 6th infusion and have been improving.
As many of you know by now, Stelara has been approved for Crohns by the FDA. This is a remarkable drug where I did respond by injection 3. See my posts on Stelara, that will be my next stop.
