Hi Starman, I'm sorry that you got such a bad surprise, but the fortunate part is that it was caught before you developed major symptoms. Crohns is like a wild fire if you put it out when it's just embers you will be less likely to have major problems than if you wait until it's taken hold and gotten really intense. Did hey give you an idea of how severe it is right now? Unfortunately a lot of people have silent inflammation and it's one of the reasons that the second largest group to be diagnosed are those later in life most likely because it shows up during routine scopes. Hang in there. I know it's a lot to take in and crohns can be wretched but there is such a spectrum that some people have very little trouble with it. Ask questions here, read material that has reliable sources and try not to pay too much attention to the really scary stories that you might find on the Internet. What medication did your doctor suggest?
