Hard dried bloody pieces in rectum

My proctitis has really been giving me very hard time lately. I take colifoam and pentasa suppositories daily but in vain. When I was inserting the suppository, I felt hard pieces in my rectum. It turned out to be dried very hard bloody pieces.Actually, it's like a scab but it's thicker and feels like glass. They are not swollen veins of roids. Rather, they are pieces that I could touch and feel. I think it's clotted blood. What's the cause: anal fissures or proctitis? Is there anything that should be done?

JaSanne, thank you. Yes, you're right, it's plastic-like. They were loose and I hit them while I was inserting the suppository. I got today colifoam as I ran out of it. Will take it mornings and nights and hope it eases the inflammation. Lately, my GI has not been reachable and I have to ask to see him if I have a new problem. I'll wait till colifoam kicks in and if these weird pieces recur, I'll see him immediately.
