Active proctitis - Can't take it anymore

I posted several times about my proctitis issue. If I count the numbers of bringing this problem up to my GI's attention in the last 3 months, they would be 6 with main visits and follow ups. Told him last time that I don't think remicade is treating proctitis, he said it will.

I've started remicade last January, so it's almost a year. I haven't seen any improvement in my proctitis activity. On the contrary, it got worse.

I was afraid that the daily use of colifoam would let me gain weight, on the contrary, I lost weight.

Symptoms have been really very annoying this last month. I get symptoms that may be no other patients can relate to but when I get them, I know my proctitis is acting up. I get this spasm in my rectum with a feeling of soreness. Sometimes there is tenesmus. I have a severe headache which my GI has never been convinced it's related to proctitis. I think my rectum pushes over my stomach and since I have GERD, I get this severe sinusitis headache. I had the other day this plastic -like clotted blood I posted about a couple of days ago.

I'm taking now colifoam twice daily and added a pentasa suppository in the middle of the day but see no improvement.

I know if I see my GI and tell him I can't see any improvement, he would ask for scans and tests. Tbh, I'm fed up with everything. I loathe CT enterocolonographies and MRI scans. Having to drink a prep and throwing it up as usual and taking these nice huge enemas during the procedure is very dreadful for me. I had an upper and lower scope in August which showed active ileocolitis. On the other hand, I read many studies that stated that active proctitis slows the healing of fistulas. I'm not even sure I want the fistula to heal after a year as my GI told me that he hopes Remicadewould put me into remission. If the fistula heals, he'll stop the Remicade and keep me on Imuran. He added that my Crohn's doesn't come up to the standard of requiring Remicade for healing. How then did the fistula form? No idea.

I'm trying as hard as possible to get finished with my PhD; I need it for job requirementsand they have given me a deadline at work to finish it. Stress. But this active proctitis is just letting me sit in bed with severe headache and regretting the time that is being wasted.

I'm very confused and don't really know what to do.

Lab, thank you. Well, he mentioned this way back in January when he decided to put me on remicade. We haven't discussed any change of plans since then. This GI has been the only doctor who had believed I was suffering for 9 years when others just diagnosed what I've got as IBS. Actually, I owe him a lot and trust him. But as you said this disease really sucks and proctitis doesn't want to calm down.
Hope we can find a solution to all the aches we suffer from soon.

Calvin, thank you. You're the first person who can relate to the headache issue. For years, I kept telling my GI about it but he was never convinced. When I saw him last week, I told him for the zillionth time about it and he just shook his head. So, I told him it seems I'm different from other patients but when I have tenesmus and this headache, I'm quite sure my proctitis is flaring up.
Glad that you could control your proctitis. But a year is too long, actually.
