Ive been dealing with crohns related issues since august. My appt with my new gi isnt until jan 26(i thought it was the 17th). My pain which has consumed my entire body has become unbearable. Im up 3 to 4 times a night in pain. Therefore i havent had a good nights rest in weeks maybe months. Its to the point that 800mg of ibuprophen doesnt help at all. Yes i know i shouldnt take them but i dont have anything else for pain. Anyhow tomorrow after my daughters ob appt for anatomy ultrasound. Im gonna take my butt right over to Duke er. Im probably gonna be admitted. Which means i will miss several christmas activities but at this point i have no choice. List of what hurts: terminal ileum, transverse colon, sigmoid colon, knees, leg muscles, kidney, siatic nerve, lower back. I also have severe pain and numbing of my left arm and hand, my fingers turn pure white. I have D 6 to 8 times a day. Everything i eat i run to bathroom in 30 minutes. Im ready for relief before something extreme serious happens to me.

Sorry that you have been through a lot lately. Hope they relieve your pain at the ER.

ER is definitely the best idea. And please, please stop taking the ibuprofen. It may temporarily help with pain, but it is causing more damage in the long run.

I agree that you should get to the ER as soon as possible. You really need a successful treatment plan at this point. Also agree that you MUST stop the ibuprofin. That's doing alot more harm than good. Not sure how your Hospital works, but here there's always an on call GI. I would ask for that.

Hi Bucko, how is it going? I'm glad you are going to the Duke ER because it really sounds like you are in need of a change. I very much hope you get the help you need!

Unfortunately i still havent been able to go to duke er. Everyone is so needy.of me that i just cant get there. I guess i will have to wait til death is knocking at my door. My own husband doesnt seem to get how bad i am and feel.

You obviously have yeast overgrowth in your body. It is causing the diabetes and body pain. You have to stop yeast your DIAHRREA. Will stop and the pain will stop. If you don't. Stop yeast it will never go away. Some people have had diarrhea for forty years not knowing it comes from yeast. Yeast bread and yeast beer causes DIAHRREA. And pain. I will be never touch yeast again. It's reported 1.7 billion people have DIAHRREA in the world. It's. A bigger problem than you think. Try non yeast bread for a while it will disappear. Make you own internet recipes non yeast bread for your family also. I already went through all that and no yeast made me normal.

Yeah, I don't think it's yeast....that may contribute, but I highly doubt it's the cause.

Well today is the day. Im finally on my way to duke hosp er. I just hope i can make the 40min drive. Im so sleep deprived. I only sleep 2-4 hours a night for the past 6 weeks. I just hope and pray they can find out whats wrong with me.

Well as usual my bloodwork results came back normal. They did a cdiff test but havent gotten the results yet. My temp was 99.3 and they said it was no fever. Well my normal body temp is 97. So 99.3 is a fever for me. They were going to admit me for just overnite but changed their mind. But i did get a referal to neurology to find out why the left side is painful and going numb. I cant get a good nights rest because of it.

I'm so sorry bucko! I have been there with the fever in the 99s and feeling like hell but no one understands because the bloodwork looks fine. Did they do any imaging or anything else? I wish you could get some answers

They did a ct and it looked like a mild flare. The dr said be would give me prednisone but when i left there was no script for it. But i did get a script for gabapentin 300mg

Hi Bucko. Duke is a good hospital, the ER not necessarily your best option for good care.

I recommend you find the best doctor in your area. A well-trained doctor will understand what is and is not a fever, will not turn you away when you are in pain and distress, and won't forget your script, and will want to monitor you every step of the way. I lucked out with a doctor who studied under Dr. Crohn.

Have you looked at UNC Medical Center (UNC Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology)? You have some good care choices in NC.

Health2. My current gi dr is at unc. I fired her. She didnt take me seriously about a flare and told me it was just ibs. I ended up in the er a few days later. So im seeing a new gi dr at duke in january.
