Crohns after ileostomy

Hello.
I recently got a phone call to say that my condition was acting up again. My rectum is still left and claim that set off the small intestine. Does this mean that I have Crohn's? I have been having constant Diarrhea over the past 2-3 weeks and I can't get up out of bed with severe fatigue.

Can you give more info? what were you diagnosed with, crohns or UC? no maintenance meds after surgery? tests and things you've had done? It does sound like Crohn's from what you've said. I'm sorry you are going through this.

Hello,
Had Complete Blood count done: ferritin 6-(23-336) basophils 0.2-(0.0-0.1) T4-16-(7-13). Stool sample negative. Diagnosed with severe UC, no maintained meds pred enemas and suppositories don't work.

Your ferritin is extremely low, which isn't good. Means your iron stores are almost non-existent. Anaemia is sometimes one of the complications of Crohn's (or UC).

You would need a scope and biopsies to confirm Crohn's, but I would certainly say it's a strong possibility. You should get it checked out ASAP; if it is Crohn's you'll need to get on a maintenance med.
