Hi, I'm a new poster having just found this site. Looks like it is loaded with good info. I have Crohns, diagnosed in '82 and just had my appendix out after an extended flair. I am recovering pretty well and discovered something I would like to share. In an attempt to strive for an anti inflammatory diet,(because of other auto immune symptoms) I went cold turkey on sugar! From the very first minute I stopped, my gut went silent. No gurgles, no runs to the bath room for the runs, I had one (count 'em) stool that day. Eerie! Have stayed with it and it has really helped. One or two stools a day now. I'm reading labels for hidden sugar and cane syrup etc and using sweeteners like Splenda. Just thought I would share...
