Im now at my appt getting tested for inflammation and damage in my nerves. Ive been having issues with pain and numbness for like 3 months. I sure hope crohns hasnt messed up my nerves

I'm on gabapentin which has helped my nerve pain. Sucks. I hear you.

Ub...i take gabapenton too 300mg 3xs a day. The ultrasound indicated 11mmsq on left arm and 10mmsq on right arm. The normal range is 4-9mmsq. I now have to wait on the drs report.

I'm at 3000mg a day. I win. lol

Are you on a biologic or do they suspect it's CD?

I do have crohns disease. Diagnosed in april 2015. My dr said i was in remission now for over a year. However ive been having a lot of issues since august 2016. Im taking methotrexate which i believe isnt working for me anymore. Not been pleased with my current gi dr. I see a new gi dr on march 23rd. Hoping to go on a biologic but i dont think my crappy insurance will pay for it. The neurologist thinks the crohns is causing nerve pain/inflammation.

I'm sorry. My nerve pain is gyne related caused by fistulas. I've had a multitude of side effects from being on such high levels of gabapentin (mostly cognitive) but I have no choice. Burning is far worse than being stupid.

Are you to increase your gaba's? Do they think it's reversible?

Don't know if this helps but I used IVIG for a number of years pretty successfully for UC; just had to switch to Humira since fistulas decided to invade my rectum in August thus upgrading my diagnosis to CD.
