I went to the ER Tuesday around noon due to severe abdominal pain, vomiting and D and ended up being admitted overnight. The ER docs were sure it was an obstruction and ordered a CT scan, those results repeated what my last one showed. Which was a narrowing. They admitted me and did surgical & GI consults today. They both agreed no obstruction and I need to follow up with my GI. I did literally have to beg to be released this afternoon, the attending doc was going to keep me another night after the other two said as long as I could keep down a liquid lunch I could be released. OMG what a trip.
And I don't know if it was funny or pitiful that both the surgeon and the GI (actually my old one) said I should have gone to the ER where my GI works out of in Pittsburgh. Because that's where the "experts" are. Kind of sad since they are affiliated with each other.
So I guess I'll see what my GI says Thursday when I see him next. But if this is going to be a recurring thing I want to talk to my colorectal surgeon sooner than later.
Thanks for listening to me ramble...
