Adding more fibre is a good idea, but also up your water intake at the same time, as having loads of fibre without enough fluid could make the constipation worse. Don't go mad and drink 10 litres a day, but make sure you have, I dunno, say 2 litres of water a day.
Try to get a mix of insoluble and soluble fibre. Some people take a fibre supplement, such as psyllium husk. If you find it difficult to eat vegetables, brown bread, etc. cos of your Crohn's then a fibre supplement might be a good idea. Otherwise, I doubt it's necessary with a balanced diet really.
I don't think you need to see your GI just yet, but if you start to go several days without pooping then, yes, see him.
