It's not dangerous in and of itself, but it's a modestly reliable indicator that you have a lot of inflammation going on somewhere.
I say "modestly reliable indicator" because in general CRP rises with increasing disease activity. But it's not always that simple. In most people it goes up as inflammation increases. But in some people it never goes up, no matter how much disease activity. On the other hand, in some people it can shoot way up with just a little inflammation. You might be one of those people in whom it jumps up with just a little inflammation or you might be one of the more typical people where such a high level indicates a lot of inflammation going on.
The upcoming colonoscopy is a good idea and hopefully will tell you whether or not you still have a lot of inflammation and thus whether or not the Humira is working.
