It's hard to say, and you'll get varying opinions. If you aren't sure about reintroducing gluten, then you should really have a gluten test. Unless you actually have a gluten sensitivity or intolerance, then it doesn't seem like a good idea to avoid it.
Gluten free and wheat free diets became sort of faddish in the last 5-10 years. I'm no expert, but people that were avoiding gluten did it for weight management.
If you aren't wanting to go through the testing, then maybe just use trial and error. Start slowly a week at a time to see if you feel better or worse when going back to it.
