Barbz, I happened to see your post & wanted to respond. I am shocked that your dr put you on Clindamycin, for a urinary tract infection. There are other ones milder that can knock that out. If you have crohns, that is an antibiotic that should be given very sparingly & as a last resort. When I had c-diff I was in the hospital on IV Vancomycin, then sent home with a 5 day course of Clindamycin. The dr wrote down an OTC probiotic for me to start on too. It is strong enough like Vanco that it kills off the good flora in the gut.
I suggest getting some cranberry juice & start drinking it. I have heard some people use cranberry tablets OTC & take that as well. And, now that I think of it, there is a product sold OTC for UTI's, ask the pharmacist he/she should know the name. My sister bought it just recently because the antibiotic given did not agree with her.
