Hey everyone,

I have 3 internal hemorrhoids and a couple external as well. I've been having bad D today with blood which I am assuming is caused by these. But it is sooo painful right now! It hurts to sit or even lie down. Does anyone have any remedies or suggestions that will ease the pain?

Warm/hot baths, or even wedge a heating pad. Avoid straining at all costs, or sitting on the toilet for long periods of time. Also, Preparation H can work wonders.

Alright thank you scifigal2k! I'll give it a shot! It hard enough having abdominal pain and diarrhea, now the hemorrhoids are just the cherry on top!

Also, sorry if this is TMI but it literally feels like it's going to pop or something. Is that even possible?

It is, actually (possible to pop, not TMI - there's no such thing with Crohn's lol)! I had one burst after a shower during a road trip. I had sat for about 10 hours in the car, and after a hot shower where I used a washrag to put direct heat for relief, I got out of the shower and had blood all over my legs. I thought my period had started, but I found a HUGE blood clot (the size of a nickel). The hemorrhoid was "gone" as well.

Sitz baths - 3 or 4 a day if you can find the time :|

I use Vitamin E suppositories after a painful BM to sooth (wait about 20-30 min after the BM though). The ones I use are Carlson Key-E Suppositories and I buy them on Amazon.

Thank you everyone for your tips! I have found the most reliefs from the sitz baths that noodlesnoodles suggested so thank you for that! I've already done 2 of them today. And the prep h has been a lifesaver for when I get out of the bath. I feel like I'm just waiting for this thing to burst! It's getting bigger ugh. And scifigal2k, I guess that is true about no possible thing as tmi with crohns! Haha it's easier to talk about on this forum because you all go through it as well.

I use Anusol HC suppositories, prescribed by my doctor. It has cortisone in it and shrinks the hemlines and soothes them. You might ask your doc for a prescription. I only have internal, not external hemlines

Oh ok! I'm gonna ask my dr about that because my internal ones are hurting really bad too and are bleeding.

I have also used Anusol (prior to diagnosis with UC) and those work nicely as well. For some reason, my doc won't let me use them now, maybe because I'm on pred? Idk, it's definitely worth asking your doctor for them.
