How to talk to dr about continuing my pain meds.

Sorry about that did mean to bother. Hi I'm a 53 year old,female I've had crohns disease diagnosed at age 23. I've had 5
Surgeries all small bowle. I have tried and had no success with every crohns meds. I have severe case of the ideas and
the only way I can get through my day or to be able to be some what normal. I don't take it to get a buzz. Most days are very
hard to even clean my house. So does anyone know talk to my doctor about this where I live the doctors don't seem to care idea mad

Just seen your other post. Do you want to talk about coming off your pain meds or changing them?

Is 'ideas' meant to be diarrhoea? I'll try to help, but still need a bit more info first - sorry!

Okay, just looked at your post again and it seems like that you want to stay on your pain meds, while (presumably) your doctor wants to take you off them. What meds are you actually taking? And what else have you tried for diarrhoea?

Agree with NCOT. I really don't understand your post. You'll need more detail, before anyone can give you any advice. I'm guessing you're asking about medical marijuana, and how to approach the Doctor about it?

Hi nene, I saw your post in another thread asking about pain medication. I am not sure if this is your gi dr rxing the pain meds or not. Many years ago my gi dr referred me to a pain mgt dr for medication. It was not that he didn't believe I was in pain, it was his practice not to prescribe them. All you can do is talk to your dr & see what he recommends.

Sorry for what you're going through! And you're no bother - welcome to the forum! We do need a bit more detail before we can give informed opinions. If you're referring to opioid pain medications, then in the long run they can do more harm than good with IBD issues. They slow down your intestines, so you can not have BMs but everything just is building up inside of you...constipated diarrhea, I guess is how I would describe it. The majority of GIs won't be willing to prescribe them long-term. Like it was mentioned, you need to get a referral to a pain management doctor.
