The only way to find out is with a colonoscopy with biopsies. Constipation does not mean you have crohns. There are so many people that have constipation issues & do not have any type of IBD. Using stool softners or even milk of magnesia are good things to use to get things moving. Then look at your diet, talk to a pharmacist about something to take OTC to help ward off the constipation. The best I can suggest is having a discussion with the gi about your concerns of crohns. Based on these endo's he may or may not do a scope to check for crohns. To be honest, the internet is a great source for gathering information, but for someone that is on the anxious side, it can become very unhealthy. There are too many issues that mimic different things & all that does is send that person in a tailspin & send the anxiety through the roof.
