Had rectal surgery almost two months ago. Was on 3 antibiotics both before and after surgery. Now, and this is only since my surgery, when I have to go to the bathroom (#2), I literally have about 1 minute between when the urge hits and when I have to go. It is serious and comes on without warning. But it also is not diarrhea and only happens about 3 times a day - meaning I go about 3 times a day.

Finally, I've noticed that since the surgery, I literally have no gas. Like, I never, ever fart. I don't feel bloated, I don't feel like I need to fart, and I don't. Ever. Even when I poop.

Anyone have any thoughts? I'm thinking maybe the antibiotics messed with my gut and that's why I don't generate gas anymore, but I'm not understanding the urgency issue. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Stevo, did you take a good Probiotic, antibiotics can wreak havoc on the gut. Personally, if this were me, I wouldn't complain about not having gas, lol. If the urgency is the only issue, hopefully it will settle down. Have you spoken with your dr?

I saw in another thread you mentioned having 2 surgeries & said you do not know what was done during the 2nd surgery. You can obtain a copy of the op report from your dr or the facility where the surgery was done.

"Don't know what was done" is probably an overstatement. I was having crazy, crazy, rectal pressure and he went in to explore. Took out a hemorrhoid and a polyp but said it would not cure my pain. It removed about 90% of the pain.
