Missing a dose?

So, due to my recurrent staph infection, I have been advised not to take my 6MP and Simponi until the infection is gone and doesn’t come back. My GI said it could make me worse if I took it. I am being seen by Infectious Diseases tomorrow morning. In the meantime, today is the day I was supposed to inject my Simponi. So, I will be missing/skipping this dose and I’m terrified that the Crohn’s is going to come back. I’ve heard that stopping and starting biologics can reduce their effectiveness. I have tried everything but Entyvio and I’m worried that even delaying by a week could cause me to come out of remission.

I’m not sure if I’m worrying needlessly (not that that isn’t my thing, I worry a lot). I’ve been in remission with the Simponi and 6MP for years now, I don’t have much more colon to give to this disease. Anyone miss/skip a dose of their biologic for whatever reason? Would you mind sharing how that went?

I took Simponi for 9 years and had to miss doses two different times for major surgeries. The longest overdue period I had was 6 weeks. [Mind you - I took Simponi every 3 weeks] I never had issues with the Crohn's flaring up, though my ankylosing spondylitis got worse.

I wouldn't worry if you have to delay for a round of antibiotics. Simponi won't lose effectiveness with a short delay.
