Hi there - first time posting and could use some suggestions/reassurance. I was diagnosed a number of years ago with colitis, and at the time, my digestive specialist felt that Crohn's was not out the question. Namely, my ileum had some slight narrowing. about 8 months I made the switch to Humira, which I think is helping to show some improvement in symptoms. I'm also on azathioprine.
The reason I'm posting here is that, over the past month or two, I've been having this ache/dull pain in my lower right side and back. It comes and goes, but is pretty tolerable for the most part. At its worst I did visit the ER on account that I was concerned it was appendicitis. A CT scan showed inflammation in the ileum/appendix area, but no swelling of the appendix. However, I was put on a week of antibiotics as a precaution.
I suppose I shouldn't keep letting my mind go to the worst possible scenarios - since the antibiotics did help, but now that the pain is back, I'm worried about my specialist ordering an MRI. Is this common for diagnosis of Crohn's? Would a colon/endoscopy not reveal enough about the type of inflammation in this area? My stool seems normal enough, but I have been having a lot of gurgling come from my gut.
Thanks
