When i was in the hospital a few weeks ago the er dr said i had a crohns flare. Then when i was on the floor that dr consulted with the gi team. They said it wasnt a flare. Im confused. I just got emailed my test results. The ct scan revealed a lot on mocusa fatty stuff in large and small intestines as well as TI. Also my crp was 34 well normal range is 10 or below and sed rate was 31 normal is below 20. So am i flaring or not. All i know is i still have belly pain. And after i eat i run to the bathroom within 30 minutes. I guess when i become septic the drs will pay attention and do something about it

If they don't think it's a Crohn's flare, then what do they think is wrong with you? How do they explain the elevated Sed rate and CRP? The fatty stuff on your TI might remain there even in remission. It is a sign that you have the correct diagnosis of Crohn's but I don't know if it indicates a current flare. I'm not sure about that though. Maybe someone with more knowledge about that will come along. What is your treatment plan>

If they can't find evidence of inflammation, they'll just tell you you have IBS.

They never mentioned it being IBS. When i was first diagnosed with crohns my CRP was 21. So a 34 is the highest it has ever been. Im suppose to follow up with my gi dr but when i called for appt they would only scedule me to see the NP. I guess thats better than nothing. My appt with gi dr is jan 5th. Also since i couldnt get more cymbalta ( prescription assistant plan wouldnt cover it any more). They switched me to amitriptyline. Its just not working as well as cymbalta. My joint pain, leg pain is worse. I havent been taking methotrexate since july...drs orders. And now i have elevated sed rate and CRP.

so infuriating. what about getting a consult at mayo, cleveland clinic, etc. ?

The mucosa fatty stuff sounds like creeping fat - a definite Crohn's sign, if so. A bit like gumby, I'm not sure what your doctors actually think is wrong with you. Do you have a copy of your CT scan report? If you can post what it said, maybe we can get a bit more info.

I'm sorry about the Cymbalta - would they cover the generic version of Cymbalta, i.e. duloxetine? It's the exact same med apart from the brand name, but just cheaper 'cos it's a generic version.

I havent figured out how to post pics yet. I was on the generic cymbalta. I will finally get insurance starting november 1st. Maybe then i can switch back to cymbalta. Or could my joint pain be crohns related.
