Stelara and increased cholesterol & triglyceride levels?

Hi,

I've been on Stelara for about 1 year & 2 months. On the plus side, Stelara has been really helping with the healing process. On the negative side, I've noticed my lipids have skyrocketed! My cholesterol and triglyceride levels have more than doubled since being on Stelara; yet my diet has not changed significantly enough to account for this.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I did similar research before posting this and also couldn't find anything about any possible link between Stelara and increased lipids. However, this is a new medication for Crohn's patients and could react differently in their bodies.

In the past, I've taken newer medications for other medical conditions I have, and side effects I experienced from those were not listed anywhere until many, many years later! It often takes years of medications being used by thousands & thousands of people before it becomes known that a particular side effect exists. People who experience side effects that aren't listed often don't report them to the FDA, which is why it can take several years for those side effects to be discovered and reported.

So, I'm posting here to see if maybe there are others with Crohn's that have also experienced this possible link.
