I agree with Lab. Take most of the claims with a pinch of salt. Many people are in long-term remission without being on any special diet or, in some cases, meds. (I would not advise going out without meds though, unless you have a very mild case which is too mild for immunesuppressants or biologics). IBD has long since been recognised as a remitting-relapsing disease; that is, it has periods of flare-ups and remissions.
Also for some people with Crohn's, healthy eating is more trouble than it's worth - fibre is not kind to inflamed and scarred tissue. Eat healthy if you can manage it without pain and diarrhoea, but don't beat yourself up about it if you can't.
