Ive been passing only thick mucus. Isnt that a symptom of chrons? I was suppose to have seen my gi dr for a colonoscopy follow up this past friday. I couldnt go because my medicaid was revoked once again. I just didnt have the cash to pay for visit. Now im going to have to cancel my appt with the new gi dr for a consult appt. Also im gonna have issues with getting my meds...cymbalta and gabapentin and vit D 50,000iu and diuretic. I guess when things get severe i will just go to the ER.

I don't know a lot about Medicaid but I do not understand why you keep losing your Medicaid as you do. Most that I know on it, do not have this issue. As far as mucus goes no, infections can cause it, people with IBS can get it, so no it is not used an a marker or indication for crohns. Everyone has mucus in their stool to a certain degree it is needed to help keep the bowels somewhat lubricated so to speak. If you have not ever read a lot about CD, I urge you to check out the CCFA.org website. It is one of the best sites to learn so much from & the information is accurate.

I would be trying to find someone to loan me the money to at least see the dr that was going to give you your biopsy results. Now a days people that are cash pay drs often discount the price a good bit. A call to that office & explain how you have to pay cash could yield a nice deduction on the office visit. You can also go to the facility where you had it done & pick up a copy of the report if you want to know what it says.

If they cancel your medicaid for no good reasons, you then should appeal their decision. The doctor's office does not know you lost your medicaid, so they are going to bill you, which is still a lot cheaper than the colonoscopy procedure itself. While GI consult may cost you a few hundreds, colonoscopy runs in thousands.

A few years ago, I went through an expensive high-tech CT Scan. I was supposed to have a follow-up consult with my GI doctor after the CT Scan. No, I did not want to have a follow-up consult, so the GI called me on the phone and he explained most of what I needed to know. He then emailed me the CT Scan w/ radiology report, which I can take to my primary care physician and other doctors.

Your colonoscopy report and any photos or video should be made available to you at no additional cost, because your medicaid had already paid for it.

I sent a message to my gi dr who did the scopes. I told haim about my symptoms and the fact i dont have insurance. He insisted i have a follow up appt. I get to see him this friday the 20th. He said not to worry about not having insurance.
