just wondering what miralax and dulcolax prep is like

hi i have a colonoscopy and endoscopy on wednesday so obviously i need to do prep tomorrow

and during the past few days ive been near empty anyway bc of an enema and alot of the usual d so im just rlly nonchalant at this point

so i was wondering how yall have done w miralax for the prep

i honestly could care less abt how the stupid thing tastes so srsly dont bother telling me abt that

so if u used miralax and dulcolax pls tell me in detail (idk if its tmi):

1. was it painful

2. how bad was the diarrhea (lol)

3. how long did it take to get urself all cleared out

and if u were already empty while doing the prep pls pls pls clarify that

Miralax prep has been the best prep by a landslide. You can mix it with whatever you want and then follow it up with loads of liquids of your choice. As far as your questions

Everyone is different but for me it seemed like it took a long time to get started (several hours) but once it got going, it was endless. Even if you think you haven't eaten much prior to the prep, I suggest that you follow all the directions and drink all of the follow up liquids. In the end you will basically be pooping liquid (tmi). You aren't going to overdose on it. Make sure you are home as it is kind of endless, but you probably won't be in too much pain. I strongly recommend that you get some Desitin or Butt Paste (it is a diaper rash brand) and put it on prior to starting the diarrhea. It will protect your skin from becoming too raw and irritated.

Good luck with the prep. The colonoscopy itself should be fine. They give you twilight meds and you won't remember anything. I hope you get good news with the results.
