The tooth abscess I've posted about earlier turned out to be very big. So, the dentist asked me to ask my GI for antobiotics. Saw my GI on Wednesday and he prescribed a combo of ofloxacin and septra or bactrim 1x2 for 2 weeks and recommended I should have another X-ray to check whether the abscess has cleared or not. I inquired about the cause of the abscess since the tooth was healthy and my GI said it could be caused by Imuran as it causes infections but he added that I have been off of it for 4 months now. Before the ABX started to kick in, my face got very swollen and pus started to leak from the dental work that the dentist began to do.
It seems that I don't have enough on my plate as I can feel a painful hard lump outside my anus on the right side. This reminds me of the hematoma I had 5 years ago. The colorectal surgeon didn't take it seriously then. This hematoma turned into an abscess and which eventually caused my perianal fistula. I'm dreading the idea that I might get another fistula but on the right side as the old one is on the left side. What would you recommend I should do?
