That sounds like type 6 on the Stool Bristol Chart. I no longer have a colon, so all my stools are type 6 or 7.

With all the infections you've had, I wouldn't be surprised if it's post-infectious IBS.

Unfortunately there's no real treatment for it, but some people do recover eventually... :-/
PS: HW doesn't like the second link for some reason, but it does work. Just copy and paste it into your browser's address bar to access it.
Thank you for those links. The PI IBS is very interesting and something I have not heard of before.
My main concern is what this all means. The actual consistency doesn't bother me, just the idea of my absorption and immune function being compromised.
Interesting fact... My overall Lyme - co-infections symptoms get worse the worse my BMs are. I've read that something like 80 - 90% of your immune system is in your gut. So, I feel that if I can get my gut in good shape, I'll have a step up on this Lyme. I attempted the GAPS diet a few weeks ago and couldn't make it through the first week. I was a complete mess by the 3rd day. I felt like I was depleting my body of certain nutrients which it needs. But, I have to find a way to get things straight.
Thank you again!
