Hi, I am 23 and have been sick for the last three month with no diagnosis. My symptoms first started out with big changes of stool, constant nausea, stomach cramping, very fatigued, and weight lose (35 lbs in 2 months). All the classic symptoms. However in the last month or two I have began to develop more symptoms including..
-Throat swelling (which sometimes makes swallowing uncomfortable and talking painful), swollen tonsil (right tonsil) and neck lymph nodes, jaw pain, gum inflammation, eye pressure pain, constant headaches, occasional joint pain in my hands, all on top of the GI issues (though I've managed to keep my weight steady).
Ive seen many doctors and have done many tests, most coming out normal an no sign of infection or anything. My biggest lead is they saw inflammation in the colonoscopy (although not as much as the doc thought there was going to be), and the biopsy results showed high levels of a white blood cell, indicating an autoimmune disease. Doc strongly believes its an autoimmune, and could likely be colitis or chrons, but wants to dig deeper with other specialists before making a Dx.
From my understanding, colitis wouldn't effect the entire GI tract, however Chrons can, and could possibly explain why I feel like I have a strep infection as well that wont go away? A throat culture first verified a non group A step bacteria present, but a few days after taking antibiotics and another culture resulted negative for strep. After finishing the antibiotics, not much has improved.
If any of you who are dx have experienced these unusual symptoms with the disease, it would be nice to know. To me it does feel like the symptoms are linked together.
Thanks!
Any comment greatly appreciated
