Strange nauseous feeling

Hi, I was diagnosed of Crohn's more than 20 years ago and I have strictures in my small intestines.

Do you sometimes feel nauseous, not related food allergy or food poisoning? I did not eat anything special today.

During the past several days, I have a lot of gas, on-and-off diarrhea, and one-and-off abdominal pains. But, during the past 4 hours, I have been feeling nauseous. Do strictures cause nauseous feeling?

I think it is less likely that I have a bowel obstruction, because I can still have some bowel movement or sometimes pass gas. But could it bowel obstruction, which is something I am most worried about?? Any thoughts? Thank you for listening.

Thank you, 73monte. Last night, after 4-5 hours, my nausea began to decrease. I almost threw up, but did not. This morning I took a simple and light liquid breakfast, then came back to work. I will see if nausea returns today. I still feel a little bloated with intestinal gas.

I have been fighting about 30 cm in length of six strictures for 15 years. I mean without surgery. I guess one day I may eventually need surgery to remove the diseased section of bowel. I am going to email my doctor's office asking for a MR Enterography. It's probably time for an update since my CT Scan several years ago.

Paul, since your scan is not right away, confirm with your ordering dr that you will not be given a barium type contrast to drink. They can give you an IV contrast that will not interfere or aggravate the stricture. I would imagine your dr has ordered the IV contrast, but double check so you don't have any last minute problems.

Every abdominal MRI I've had is a combo of an IV contrast and drinking a couple of bottles of contrast.

When was your last blood work? I only ask because if something is out of balance it can cause me to have nausea. Also if your electrolytes are off that can also cause it.
