The last time i went to see my GI i mentioned that my bum hurt when i would sit a certain way. However there was nothing visable on the outside that would suggest pain. Well now it has come to the surface. I have my 4th perianal abscess. Its sooooo painful. I really need to see my crs but i wont have any insurance until october. Yes i finally got insurance....medicaid. However i was only able to get it because my husband of 19 years has now left me and the kids. Theres no way i can wait til october to get this abscess checked out. Would the do anything about it if i went to the ER. Im also dealing with withdrawls from cymbalta. I ran out and have no money to pay for a refill.

I'm so sorry you're having such a tough time. You must get some treatment started now though. I'm in Canada, so I don't know how your medical system works, but you must be able to get treatment considering that it's pretty much an emergency situation. I would certainly go to ER. I hope you have some family members or friends that could advocate for you. Keep us posted, hope you get some good news.

Some hospitals and clinics have Charity Care which may help you afford a visit before you have insurance, you could call your GI's clinic to find out.

Oh no! Bucko, I completely understand the abscess thing......Pain doesn't begin to cover it. Best to contact your GI and see if you can get on abx. I'm sure you know about sitz baths, tea tree oil etc.

Other than that my only suggestion is too get to emerg.

It's really hard taking care of your family in situations like an abscess. I have a suitcase packed and ready at all times and for the longest time "over prepared" with stockpiling supplies/groceries/dog food etc for my family. I had about 10-12 massive abscesses in 1 year so I had to be hypervigilant. Do what you can at home, enlist friends and family for help and talk to your GI. This is not the time to come off cymbalta. I'm concerned about that. Perhaps as caja says there may be other avenues to explore.
