I had a balloon dilation of my terminal ileum for the first time for a new diagnosis of Crohn's disease. According to the endoscopist it worked well with limited signs of active disease. However, my pain spiked once the anaesthetic wore off and it is as bad as it has ever been.
I realize that everyone's experience is different, but I haven't been able to get a straight answer for how long it should take after a dilation to feel better. I hoped to crowd-source some info. What were people's experiences with this? How long after the procedure did symptoms improve? Did you pain spike right afterwards?
Thanks very much for any info, and I'm glad to have found this online community.
