Congrats on the successful reversal.
The soreness and frequency is only to be expected though. It'll probably take a few months to completely settle down, although it should start getting better after a few weeks. Baby oil sounds a bit useless - I'd try something like calmoseptine instead. Personally speaking, anything with menthol in I find very soothing.
A bile sequestrant like cholestyramine might help too. It's the undigested bile acids which cause the soreness (and in my case the itching from hell).
The frequency should deffo improve over time. It takes a while for the intestines to settle down after any type of bowel surgery. They really don't like being interfered with - it messes up the nerves responsible for peristalsis (the wave-like movement of muscles which push food along). The nerves relearn it of course, but it's not a process which you can hurry.
