Just did my 1st stelara self injection

2 months ago I had the infusion at a clinic. Today I did Stelara by myself. I thought the needle would hurt more when it went in, but no pain.

the area after injection is red, not sure if thats from pinching the area? I saw a Youtube video where a patient said to hold the needle at an agle (I did not)

I also noticed a drop of medicine bubble up after I took the needle out.

It sounds like it went well. I was also surprised that it didn't hurt too much. Good luck getting to remission on it.

I used to be on Humira, which was more painful.

Glad it went well for you!
I take Stelera and a drop always appears when I pull the needle cap off. So no worries there. Also, your syringe should come with a giant folded piece of paper - that's the instructions. It does say to enter the skin at an angle.
