Hi folks,
I am one year post-op from an ileocecectomy. Since then I've had more loose stools than in many years prior to the surgery. I've been on the IBD-AID diet since October and at first the diarrhea cleared up completely, but now I will have it at least once a week, sometimes for a few days in a row. I'm in one of those episodes now, and I've noticed a pattern where I will have urgency and a bowel movement shortly after eating. I'm wondering if the peristalsis is too strong in my intestines, and if this might be somehow due to having had the surgery (15" total were removed and my appendix.) Does anyone else have this happen, whether you've had that surgery or not? Any tips on slowing down the peristalsis? Sometimes I'm not even finished my meal and I have to run to the bathroom.
Not on meds currently, just treating with diet.
Thank you!
